I’m Li Hua, from Senior 3. My topic today is “Say No to Students’ Smartphone Use”.
Evidently, with ownership among students increasing sharply, the smartphone have transformed the way we communicate, making it easier to spread information.
But there’s no doubt that they can be a major headache on campus. First, the temptation to check social media or text a classmate during class can be a distraction for students, which is a challenge for educators. Second, smartphone use is feeding an addiction and stunting students’ development of face-to-face communication skills. Third, some students spend lots of time on smartphones watching short videos,googling test answers and even cyberbullying.
Since its disadvantages outweigh its advantages, I’m advocating “Say No to Students’ Smartphone Use” by leaving our smartphones at home.
